On 05.11.2026, Churachandpur District Police, in coordination with 1st IRB, 58 Bn CRPF, NAB and Forest Department, conducted a joint poppy destruction operation at Thangjing Hill Range, Churachandpur District, in the presence of an Executive Magistrate.
During the operation, approximately 45 acres of illicit poppy cultivation were destroyed.
No person was found at the site. However, as the area falls under the jurisdiction of Lhangnom village, summons were subsequently issued to the village chief.
