In the encounter C/No. 2898 M. Thoiba Singh hit by bullet while he was driving the Jeep of OC Singjamei PS on patrolling duty and succumbed to bullet injury.

Brief of Incidence:
On the night of 15/08/1985 a police party of Chakpikarong PS along with Rifleman K. Bijoy Singh under the command of Jemadar Dil Bahadur of 8th MR was on night patrolling duty at Chakpikarong area, they had encountered with some unknown miscreants believed to be NSCN members who opened fire on the Police/MR patrolling party. During the exchange of fire, he had sustained bullet injury on the left side of his neck. Later, he was succumbed to his injury on 22/10/1985 at SSKM Hospital, Kolkata.

As such, there was an encounter between Kuki UG groups & personnel of 8MR Molcham Post. During the said encounter, he sustained bullet injury and succumbed to his injury at the spot along with two others of 8 MR personnel.

While he was trying to come back from Chandel DHQ along with the students in the unit vehicle with full uniform, he was pulled down from the vehicle by some unknown youths suspected to be NSCN and shot death near Zaphou Bazar, Chandel.

Brief of Incidence:
On 25/07/1995 at about 6 p.m. some unknown armed persons suspected to be extremists holding well sophisticated weapons who came in a white Maruti Gypsy(Number not known) suddenly attacked on a joint mobile patrolling team of 8th MR and Kakching Police personnel while returning from Kakching Lamkhai towards Kakching Bazar. During the attack, he got bullet injury and succumbed to his injury.

On 10/01/1997 at 6:00 p.m., when Hon'ble MLA Shri Mangi Singh and his escort team were coming from Kumbi side in 2 (two) vehicles, they were ambushed between Thinungei & Ningthoukhong Kha Khunou along with Tiddim road by some unknown extremists numbering about 20/30. As a result of which 6(six) personnel including Hon'ble MLA sustained bullet injuries. Another 6 (six) personnel including Rifleman Ganesh Bahadur succumbed to their injuries at the spot. Some of weapons of escort party were snatched away by the miscreants and both vehicles also badly damaged. One extremist killed by the escort team on retaliation firing.

Brief of Incidence:
On 07/02/1997 Rfn. No. 8333 H. Ashuli Mao was detailed on escort duty of Dy. CO, 8th MR who was detailed as Zonal Officer for General Election, 1997. While returning from duty after collecting all the polled ballot boxes and other election materials from Waikhong, some unknown militant groups suspected to be UNLF laid ambush on the escort team in the meadow between Yelangkhangpokpi and Langmeidong. The escort party also retaliated. During the ambush, he sustained bullet injury and succumbed to his injury at the spot.

While the party of Hon'ble MLA were travelling in between Riha village & Yaingangpokpi, they were ambushed by the U.G. element and an encounter ensued. The police escorts retaliated bravery and could repulse the attack of the UGs and protect the Hon'ble MLA. Unfortunately during the encounter, he was hit by bullet and succumbed to the injuries.

Sinam village a huge stone fell upon the mini bus in which Ex-Havildar Th. Yaima Singh was sitting and succumbed to injury on the spot.

Brief of Incidence:
Rfm No.6070153, Athokpam Manadona Singh was detailed for ROP duty to be performed at Noney and Awangkhul areas on 07/07/2011 vide PHQ signal No. PR-17/16/2011-PHQ/5663 dated 05/07/2011 alongwith other jawans for safety and security of the vehicles moving form Jiribam to Imphal along NH-53 (now NH-37). Mini bus bearing registration No MN01-1860, while reaching, K/Sinam area, all of a sudden, at about 2:15 p.m. of 06/07/2011, while crossing the area, a massive landslide with portion of rocks has fallen and cursed the rear portion of the bus. Immediately, Rifleman, Athokpam Manadona Singh who was sitting in the rear seat of the bus, died on the spot and registered one UD case No. 5/2011/G.SPM/US-174 CPRC dated 06/07/2011 of G. Saparmeina P.S.

Brief of Incidence:
During the posting at 8MR RHQ camp at 1MR, Imphal on 06/07/2011, he was detailed for ROP duty at NH-53 near Senam village. While he was performing his ROP duty at Senam village along NH-53 at about 2:00 p.m. he got injury on his head in a land slide accident(natural calamity) and died on the spot on the same day. He met with unnatural death on duty.

Brief of Incidence:
On 20/04/2013, 6 armed guard-cum-escort personnel of Shri N. Millan Singh E.E.PWD Chandel and another 5 armed personnel proceeded to Moreh escorting Shri Ng. Manglemjao Singh, SE/PWD, Chandel and Shri N. Millan Singh, EE/PWD, Chandel. On the return journey from Moreh on 21/04/2013 at about 7:40 a.m., they were ambushed in between Khudengthabi and Kwatha Lamkhai on NH-2 near 9 AR post by some unknown U.G. outfits equipped with sophisticated weapons firing simultaneously and also exploding 2 IEDs. The police team retaliated and manage to repulse the attack of the UG's. However, due to heavy firing from the U.Gs. and explosion of IED, Seven(7) escort personnel got serious injuries and out of them Rifleman Longjam Shachil Singh succumbed to his injury.

Brief of Incidence:
On 09/09/2014 at 9:50a.m., a convoy of Commando(CDO), Manipur Rifles and Indian Reserve Battalion were waylaid by well-armed militants suspected to be NSCN(IM) cadres attacking in full force using lethal grenades and other sophisticated weapons to the convoy at a place near Cement Factory, Hundung. The convoy personnel also retaliated the attack and resulted in the fierce encounter which lasted for about 15-20 minutes. He jumped down from Gypsy and took position and was engaged in retaliatory fire, not realising that he was already hit by bullets and was bleeding seriously. He succumbed to his injuries.

Brief of Incidence:
On 25/09/2014 at about 8:30 p.m. while he along with CDO team led by a Sub-Inspector was on duty at PCTC filling station, Khuyathong, Imphal, one unknown person possessing with a weapon came in an Auto rickshaw a civilian towards the north AOC; the auto rickshaw was stopped by the CDO team but he (extremist) indiscriminately fired towards the CDO team. CDO team refrained from firing to avoid civilian causality. However the man jumped down from the auto rickshaw and ran towards PCTC and he kept on firing at the CDO team. CDO team also started cautiously to retaliate by firing some rounds tactically. However, the extremist ran amidst civilians and jumped inside the Rakshak vehicle of CDO team and hijacked the vehicle forcing him(E. Joykumar Singh) at gunpoint to drive the vehicle. The vehicle i.e. Rakshak was taken towards Minuthong and he was found shot dead inside the Rakshak at Sabal Leikai, Imphal East District.

The Constable was on security duty when he was injured in the explosion. He was evacuated and taken to Hospital but declared dead.

Brief of Incidence:
On 12/07/2014 at 8.40 pm the Officer-in-Charge, Chakpikarong Police Station received a reliable information that one accused person namely Naorem Hemogood (26) s/o (L) Sanatomba of Kakching Baji Leikai who was a labourer and working and repairing work at Community Health Centre, Chakpikarong attacked his fellow labourer by using a dao at CHC, CKG campus. Again the above accused attacked one person namely Bs. Jonhring Anal s/o Bs. Angching Anal by using a dao. As a result of which the person received sustained multiple cut bleeding injury on his neck and head and succumbed to his injury. Immediately the police team of Chakpikarong Police Station rushed to the spot and started searched of the accused person at CHC, CKG campur. During searched, the accused person attacked C/No. 0906074 K. Kothang Maring by using a dao from behind. As a result of which K. Kothang Maring fell on the ground and his neck was almost chopped off. This refers to case FIR No. 6(7)2014 CKG-PS u/s 307/326/302 IPC.
