On 12^th July, 2026, Manipur Police recovered 49 (Forty-Nine) packets of suspected opium weighing approximately 49.500 kgs, from a Hyundai Creta (NL-07CE-0841) which was found abandoned near Hengbung Baptist Church along NH-2 after it sped away from T. Khullen naka check point under Senapati-PS, Senapati district. Documents belonging to one Z. Reithingam (52) of Kamphasom Ukhrul were also recovered from the vehicle. Further investigation follows.
